I vividly remember getting to go to Minnesota Fabrics to pick out fabric for my first quilt. At the time, my mom had never sewn triangles, but of course she didn't tell me that and let me forge ahead. Here is the quilt. I still have it. Nope, it's still not done. There were those that came soon after I did complete, but never this one. And I can't go back and do it now, so it remains an incomplete project and a symbol of my heart as well.
We then hand basted the quilt along the sashing and I started hand stitching the blocks. I can't replicate what my 8 year old self would've done, so I leave it as is. A beginning. It was fun to pull it out and look at it. It's been awhile.
I hope you get to quilt today!
A fantastic memory for sure. How fun to pull it out and see what your 8 year old self created.ReplyDelete
For your 1st attempt and at EIGHT YEARS OLD... You did an INCREDIBLE JOB!!!ReplyDelete
Really neat and amazing quilt, especially for an 8 year old. I think it's so cool you leave it as is. It's just so awesome. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your day,!🎄🌻🥀ReplyDelete
