A Little Paint and a Little Applique Block 1

This year I joined Helen Godden's painted block of the month.  Check it out on her website!  I finished the first block and still had my paints out when I decided to play.  I designed an applique block but instead of appliqueing some of the shapes, I painted them with my Lumiere metallic acrylic paints.

And I start adding applique.

The blanket stitching around the shapes complete.  

This process is totally addicting.  I have 11 blocks fused and ready for stitching!  Stay tuned.
