Pickle Dish!

I have always wanted to make a Pickle Dish quilt.  However, sewing curves has always been challenging to me.  But not with the new Accuquilt Block on Board Pickle Dish Die!  It's absolutely fantastic.

I started with sewing curves using a beautiful blue Island Batik and a few grays from Claudia Pfeil's Venetian Marble collection.

Then I pinned like a crazy woman.  I actually found this was too many pins.  They got in the way.  So finally I used only about half this number of pins pinning the triangle points and the midway points.

The final block.

Then I combined four blocks together.

It was such fun I had to make more.  However, I didn't have enough of the purple background fabric.  So, I played around and used some red too.  I'm quite happy with the final results.

Then I started thinking about a border.  You can see it on the left.  I knew I had to do it.

Top complete!  Now to layer and pin the quilt.

I hope you get to quilt today!
