Born to be Wild Blog Hop

When I started thinking about what I wanted to make for my project for the Born to be Wild Blog Hop hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt I remembered this 5 inch strip of Island Batik leopard print batik I had.  I never had any idea of how to use it because I'm not really into leopard print.

The obvious choice would've been to make a leopard...but I really didn't want to.  I wasn't in the mood to make a cat.  So what to do?  Well...I had this gorgeous sunset fabric which would be perfect for a background, but what wild animal to put on it?

A flamingo!  Of course.  I love flamingoes!  But what about incorporating the leopard print?  Well...you can guess what rabbit hole I went down.  So here you have them....my WILD leopard print flamingoes!
I hope you enjoy them and they make you giggle like they do for me.

They really cute!

I hope you get to quilt today!

  4. Oh my gosh, a leopard flamingo...love it! I have a thing for flamingoes, but none of mine are leopard colored. I may have to change things up. Thank you for sharing your wild side with us!

  5. They are really cute and what fun fabrics not only for them, but the background. Perfect! I Googled what a cross between a leopard and a flamingo would be called and stumped it. LOL!! I guess Google isn't the be all, end all in searches! hahahahaha
