Free Motion Friday - Quilting a Unicorn

Sometimes I get myself into trouble by volunteering to do things.  Fortunately, it wasn't the case this time.  I had such fun quilting this unicorn for my friend Ann!  It's a gift for a friend of hers who is 8.

I started with wavy lines in a variegated thread for the mane of the unicorn.

The horn itself got some elongated bubbles.

I stippled the unicorn's body and did swirls in the background.

It was such fun!

I hope you get to quilt today!

  1. I make cushions for a local school where my daughter teaches. One off the girls would like a unicorn cushion and this would be perfect. Is there a pattern available? Love your work!
