Apliquick and Silk....the Quilting

When I first starting quilting this project i quickly realized that the circles all needed to be stitched around and that the areas between needed to be flattened.  The best way to do that?  Microstippling.

Next I decided that all those gorgeous circles should really be roses.  So I started stitching with a variegated pink and red thread.  I love how they do look like modern roses.  Perhaps that will be the title!

All the white space in the background?   Simple.  My favorite.  Always.  Feathers.....yum.  There can NEVER be enough feathers.

Now to finish the quilting.  Maybe this weekend!

I hope you get to quilt today!

  1. I love how you approach your quilting design. The fact that you can call it simple, makes me smile. Meanwhile, I'm gonna stick with my walking foot, since I can't seem to get into free motion. I'll just admire yours!
