It's time for a modern quilt as part of the Island Batik Ambassador's Modern Batik Challenge!
I love the look of modern quilting. It's simplistic, but fun. I decided I wanted to play with some Island Batik scraps I had for this challenge. I pulled out all my green and purples. I then cut a LOT of little squares...
Then I assembled them into blocks and arranged them as shown below. It almost makes a perfect x, but not quite, which is why I like it!
I decided to do swirls on a line for the quilting I decided to do them all the way across the entire quilt.
I'm very happy with the final results.
I hope you get to quilt today!
Suzy
I like the quilting design very much. Do you draw a grid to follow as you do the quilting?
ReplyDeletePretty, different design.
ReplyDeleteOoh, it was already an interesting piecing design, but then your quilting swirls really kicked it up a notch. Lovely piece, and great way to use up those precious batik scraps!
