Usually when I'm appliqueing I apply one piece at a time and then add the next layer. With the tiny pieces in the giraffe's face I didn't want them to be in the wrong place so I layered the whole thing at one time and it worked out well. I think that I can do this when the design is relatively small. If you do this on a block that's really big like 30 x 30 pieces start falling off as you rotate it around under the needle.

It's always fascinating to see how color and print create an image that is not always reality/creation!!! I just love this cutie and the fabric is perfect (the facial expression is so sweet!!). Looking forward to seeing the finish!!!!
