Comparing Quilting Designs

I decided I wanted to play with comparing different quilting patterns in the same block.

I started with some leftover ten inch squares of beautiful Island Batik fabric and my favorite Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Each area is quilted different.  In this one the white area has feathers, the yellow have matchstick quilting, and the blue have some fun flower like shapes.

This one has an x motif in the white, bubbles in the yellow, and stars in the light blue.

This one has swirls in the white and continuous curve in the blue and yellow.

Here are a few closeups:

Results?  I love them all! Don't make me choose!

I hope you get to quilt today!

  3. I love seeing the same project quilted different ways. You can really see what a difference the quilting decisions make as far as what stands out, what recedes, and the overall feel of each of these blocks, even though everything else about them is identical.
