I keep quilting away on this project. But I have a PROBLEM. Do you see how the feathers are getting LOST among the background fill? I've been thinking a lot about it. Next time I will use a smaller thread weight or a more contrasting fill or more echoing to set them apart. However this chambray hides thinner threads. So now what?
Here's the overall picture. The feathers really do get lost....
I put a piece of clear plastic over the quilt and tried coloring in the echo I made around the feathers. See how much more they pop? My favorite Pigma pens will be coming to the rescue to make the feathers pop. I'm going to wait until all the quilting is done first though.
