Minnesota Quilter's Show Day 4

Day four was a blast!  We started out with a free motion filler class called Filler Pizzazz where we talked about how to make free motion designs your own.  Check out my student's work!

The second half day class was beginning paper piecing.  We had a blast!  And I learned that a full day class would really be better.  Good to know!  They all learned the process and were happy with their blocks.

Free Motion Friday - Inspiration - My Solo Exhibit!

I must admit that I don't have something new to show you today.  The end of the school year has been hectic as well as going on vacation.  So...I'm sharing my recent solo exhibit from the Minnesota Quilter's Show!

I was so excited to have a special exhibit of 20 quilts from my blog!  Here are pictures.  It's an amazing retrospective of the first 18 months or so of the blog.  And my handsome son who had his first quilt in the show in the youth category this year was happy to pose in a few of the photos.  

I'll be back with new Free Motion work next week!

Inspired by the Minnesota Quilters Show

I just got back from the Minnesota Quilter's Show in Duluth, MN.  It was a FANTASTIC show this year with lots of gorgeous quilts and great vendors!

This quilt is two sided and was done using the quilt as you go method.  It was absolutely fantastic!  And gives me ideas....

This is a quilt by Beth Nufer and Clem Buzick.  I met Clem at the show and she was wonderful.  The quilt is made of silks and it just glows...hmmm....more food for thought!  Enjoy.

Minnesota Quilter's Show 2016

I went to sneak preview yesterday at the Minnesota Quilter's Show in St. Cloud.  It was an absolute blast and we had a great time!  There were a ton of gorgeous quilts that I will be posting pictures of for the next week or two over on my Machine Applique Adventures Facebook group.

I was excited to see how my two new show quilts did and I was quite pleased with the results.  Kaboom! took second place behind Margaret Solomon Gunn.

All Fired Up (made with some of my lovely Island Batiks as part of the Island Batik Ambassadors) took second place behind Sharon Schlotzhauer.

AND today was the last day of school.

AND I got the proofs for my book today!
