This month the Island Batik Ambassadors were challenged to make a quilt for an organization highlighted by Deb Tucker of Studio 180 called Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This organization makes beds for children so that no child sleeps on the floor. Their goal is to get kids off the floor, into a bed, and under a quilt.
I used the Dots and Doodles collection from Island Batik along with Deb Tucker's V Block trimmer.
The V Block tool works amazingly well! Here I am cutting and preparing one block for my project.
It turned out perfectly one trimmed and made sewing together the whole quilt a breeze! The quilt of course uses Schmetz Microtex Needles to pieces and quilt with as well as Aurifil Thread and my favorite Hobbs 80/20 batting inside. My Oliso iron worked wonderfully to iron all the blocks for this project.
I hope you get to quilt today!
