Island Batik Ambassador's Thread Painting with Aurifil Challenge

This month the Island Batik Ambassadors were challenged to do some Thread Painting with Aurifil!  What fun!

I received the gorgeous Buttercup collection to play with.  But what to do?  I decided I wanted to make some flowers and I found some gorgeous blue and yellow pansies.  For the thread painting I wanted to make them look fuzzy as that's how pansies feel.

These are the beautiful Aurifil threads that were provided to me.  I love Aufiril.

I then went into my thread stash and found more colors to add even more texture...can you tell I love Aurifil?

For my batting I chose Hobbs Tuscany Supreme 100% Unbleached cotton.  It's a thicker batt and I wanted to see how the texture played with it.

I then had a lot of fun playing with adding my texture.

On the basket I outlined all the blue dragonflies in yellow thread.

A little bit of pansies in the snow as we got a freak October snowstorm.  It makes for a pretty picture!  I had fun quilting feathers and pebbles in the background.

I hope you get to quilt today!
