My Oldest UFO

I'm sure I made these blocks when I was in middle school or high school.  It was a long time ago and I remember being SO excited that I had a bunch of fabrics in different colors with the same print.  They never got beyond this stage as they're all printed on colored fabric and they bled in later projects I did.  Thus, they are still blocks.  But I can't seem to let go of them.  So they enjoy living in my partly done stack.

I still love snails trail.  Such a fun block.  This green combination is my favorite.

I hope you get to quilt today!

  1. So pretty. I especially love the green block. Snails Trail is a pattern I definitely want to try.

  2. I wouldn't let go of them -- they are so nice! They have a story to tell, your story, so I'd keep them.

  3. They are great blocks!! Is there any way to soak them gently in hot water with Dawn dish washing soap to get them to give up their extra dye?? You could then block them to keep them square during drying. They are so pretty, it would be a shame not to be able to use them. Or you could use each block to be a solo wall hanging, hung as a group. That way they would never have to be introduced to water!!
