Pentaflora Part 2

Today I continue to show you the steps in creating my new show quilt Pentaflora which will debut at UQSM next weekend. In case you missed it, here is a link to Pentaflora Part 1.

Layer 3.  You can see that I use a blue water soluble pen to mark my applique designs on the fabric.  I also thread baste my pieces instead of using applique pins.

The whole piece with Layer 3 added.

And Layer Four.  I love the purple tulips!

All of Layer 4.

I hope you get to quilt today!

  1. You are a rare treasure in the quilting world today. By doing original work and sharing your process you are following the tradition that kept the higher craft of quilting alive for hundreds of years. I wish you success and prosperity as a true leader and artist.

  2. Lovely. thank you for sharing!

I can't seem to use the blue washout pens here, they fade away too quickly as there is high moisture in the air of subtropical Australia. I use the ARtline green fineliner and it washes out even after ironing. (just in case, it's good to know this sometimes!)
